Why hasn't my order been shipped?
All orders placed on our site by 2:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday for items
where we have inventory onhand should be shipped out that same day. If
you placed your order after that time, we may still get your order out
that day, but most likely it will be shipped out the next business day.

My order has been shipped. When will it arrive?

too and for information about these just visit our Shipping section.

Can I return merchandise? Yes!
AlexBlake.com has a 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy. If you are
dissatisfied with your purchase, you may return it to us within 30 days
of receipt in an unworn condition for either a refund or an exchange as
you prefer. Of course, we’ll refund our shipping charge and your return
costs if your return is a result of our error (shudder!), or any
product defect. But if you just change your mind, that’s fine too, but
then we just refund the merchandise value. Hope that seems fair. Just
follow the directions on the invoice enclosed with your order in order
to complete the return.

My order should have arrived by now. What should I do?

Do you gift-wrap? Surely.
Just click on the gift-wrapping option in the checkout process and we
will lovingly cushion your order in swathes of pretty wrapping and

Can I get a product special ordered?
AlexBlake.com is committed to providing our customers with the largest
selection of hosiery and legwear products on the market. From time to
time we receive requests for products that we don't carry. Although
there are some brands that we choose not to carry because we do not
believe that they offer consistent quality, compelling value or
reliable supply, we would always welcome your suggestions of additions
that we can make to our range. Just e-mail us. Also if there is a
particular style that you like from one of the brands that we carry
that does not seem to be part of our range it is more than
likely that
we can order this style in for you if you don’t mind a short wait. Let
us know!

Why is the fabric content important when purchasing hosiery?
Fabric content determines the sheerness, durability, and weight of the
particular item. So it’s important to be familiar with the fabric
content, what it means, and to make sure that it’s going to fit your
needs.

What's the difference between an Ultra sheer and Lycra™ or Silky sheer?
An Ultra sheer is made of fine nylon, is extremely sheer and requires
extra careful handling. A Lycra™ sheer or Silky sheer, is made of nylon
and Spandex (Lycra™), a fiber similar to elastic. The nylon/Spandex
combination creates the silky feel, comfort and fit.
What is a Business Sheer, or Day Sheer?
A Business Sheer, or Day Sheer, is made from stretchy nylon that clings
gently to legs. Referred to as "Everyday," "Stretch," "Classic" or
"Basic." It is not as sheer as an Ultra Sheer, but is more durable as a
result.
What is support, or compression hosiery?
Support, or compression, hosiery are actually two terms which refer to
the same type of product. This type of hosiery is knitted from a
combination of nylon and Spandex yarns that help to reduce leg fatigue.
These are also among the most durable hosiery. They are usually
slightly heavier than Lycra™ or Silky sheers, but today's sheer support
hosiery is also fashionable and available in a wide array of colors and
patterns.
What is the difference between tights and opaques?
The major difference between tights and opaques is the weight of the
garment. Tights are typically heavier and less sheer than opaques.
Tights' construction is commonly cotton, wool, or nylon/Spandex.
Opaques are usually nylon/Spandex or microfibers. Both offer complete
color coverage and options like matte, shiny, or
silky, which refer to
the look and feel of the garment.

How do I choose the correct size?
Choosing the correct size is the most important step in making your
pantyhose last. It benefits you twice; not only will the pantyhose be
more comfortable, but they'll last longer with less stress on the
garment.
• First, be honest with yourself about your weight;
• Second, always check the size chart as size information varies from brand to brand;
• Lastly always select the larger size if you fall in a borderline area
of the size range. No-one needs to know (and we won’t tell!)
What does "Denier" mean?
Denier refers to the degree of sheerness of the hosiery. On a Denier
scale, 10 denier is considered ultra sheer, 25 is considered a day
sheer and 45 is considered an opaque.
What is Spandex? Spandex is
the highly elastic fiber that allows hosiery to continuously conform to
the body. With Spandex, pantyhose can stretch and snap back into place,
avoiding the dreaded "baggy" look. Lycra® is the most popular brand of
Spandex used in hosiery.
What is the difference between Nylon and a Nylon/Spandex® blend?
100% Nylon and Nylon/Spandex® combinations offer different features.
Products which are made of 100% Nylon are often very sheer and
lightweight. By adding Spandex®, the product becomes slightly heavier
and more elastic. It also retains its shape better. The products with
Spandex® may not be as lightweight as their 100% Nylon counterparts,
but they are softer on the leg, and more durable.
What is a thigh-high?
Thigh-highs are usually made of Nylon or Nylon/Spandex®, and have
evolved into a comfortable, feminine option for everyday wear. With no
panty, thigh-highs often feature elastic lace tops for support. They
can be worn with or without a garter belt. Thigh-highs are also a great
option for pregnant women. Amusingly, our British colleagues refer to
thigh-highs as “hold-ups” but then they also spell color with a ‘u’.

How do I care for my new hosiery?
Care of hosiery is a simple equation: if well-taken care of, they'll
last longer. Pantyhose should be washed gently by hand, using a mild
detergent that doesn't contain chlorine bleach that could remove color
and damage fibers. If you want to use a washing machine (it’s ok – we
understand), then the hosiery should be placed into a hosiery bag or
pillowcase and washed on the gentle cycle with a mild detergent. To
dry, place one or two pairs of pantyhose on a towel, roll up and
squeeze towel gently. This eliminates stretching when hanging hosiery
to dry. Never attempt to dry pantyhose in the dryer. Trust us on this.
What makes one pair of hosiery more expensive than another?
The price of a pair of hosiery varies according to the fabric content
and how much of the manufacturing process is done by hand versus
machine. For instance, some of the more expensive brands of hosiery
have seams that are reinforced and sewn flat by hand and wider
waistbands that help to ensure a more comfortable fit. Choosing the
brand and style which is best for you shouldn't depend solely on the
price, but on many other factors, including fit and color selection.
What can I do to prevent my hosiery from running?
Make sure your nails are smooth and your legs neatly shaven. Also, be
careful to avoid sharp or rough edges; this should help prevent snags
and runs that can ruin your pantyhose. If you are particularly active,
try wearing styles that have higher Lycra™ or Spandex content. These
styles tend to be more durable and should last longer than ultra sheers
or higher nylon content styles.
Is it still fashionable to wear hosiery?
Definitely. Trends will come and go, but the use of legwear always will
be a part of the well-dressed woman's armoury. Manufacturers,
particularly European manufacturers have recently made extraordinary
efforts to introduce more stylish designs that fit up-to-the minute
fashions and incorporate technological innovations that make them an
indispensable wardrobe addition. Different colors and designs can add a
different dimension to your whole look at very reasonable cost.
Finally, remember, legs covered in black will never go out of fashion.
